A cold January evening, I found myself rewatching Casablanca for the umpteenth time. Films like that had always been a source of inspiration for me, the clothes, the lighting, the storytelling.
Over the years, my work as a designer has become known for its flash, its color, its sense of irreverence.
I wanted to see what would happen if I took it all away.
Inspired by the great Hollywood portraitists—George Hurrell, Clarence Bull, Horst P. Horst—I stripped everything back.
No color.
No set dressing.
No distractions.
Just a person, and the clothes.
Elegance.
Beauty.
Restraint.
